The National Operatic and Dramatic Association (NODA) was founded in 1899 and has a membership of over 2400 amateur theatre groups and 3000 individual enthusiasts throughout the UK, staging musicals, operas, plays, concerts and pantomimes in a wide variety of performing venues, ranging from the country’s leading professional theatres to village halls. |

Amateur Theatre Week aims to encourage new audiences and new participants, and to raise the profile of amateur theatre, which includes community theatre companies, amateur dramatic and operatic societies, youth groups, schools, colleges and universities. It is estimated that around 500,000 people actively take part in amateur theatre, performing to audiences of 7.5 million. |
