Event details

BCP announce OPEN AUDITIONS for the final play of their 2017 / 2018 Season: Martin McDonagh's The Cripple of Innishmaan.
This wickedly funny, poignant play is set in 1934 on a small island off the West coast of Ireland.  The arrival of a Hollywood film crew on a neighbouring island sets the youngsters' hearts racing with the prospect of escape and a new life in the USA.
Roles available:
Kate : 50-70 yrs
Eileen : 50-70 yrs
Johnnypateenmike : 50-70 yrs
Billy : 16-25 yrs
Helen : 16-25 yrs
Barty : 16-25 yrs
Babbybobby : 20-60 yrs
Doctor : 50-70 yrs
Mammy : 60-80 years

The fabulous character parts are raw, hilarious, challenging, irreverent and realistic, requiring a creative approach and, of course, an Irish accent.  This black, tragi-comedy is about getting the audience to laugh and cry at the same time.  It is a play to challenge concepts of political correctness; to question who, in fact, are the people who don’t fit in, and a hope of replacing pain and loneliness with laughter and love.

Auditions will be held on Thursday 22nd March 2018 at The Mill Arts Centre, Banbury, 7.30pm.
Production dates are 11th - 14th July 2018 at The Mill Arts Centre.  You will need to be available from Sunday 8 Jul.y 2018 for Technical and Dress Rehearsals.  You do not need to be a member to audition but will be required to join if cast.  Click for further details on BCP membership.  Rehearsals (24 in all) will be on Mondays and Thursdays, 7.30pm-9.30pm, starting after Easter 2018.
