A rousing, bawdy Southern folk legend set in eighteenth century Mississippi, The Robber Bridegroom is the story of Robin Hood-like figure Jamie, who saves Clemment Musgrove (the richest planter in the country) from the Harp gang and pursues his daughter, the Rosamund The proceedings go awry, thanks to an unconventional case of double-mistaken identity. Throw in an evil stepmother intent on Rosamund_s demise, her pea-brained henchman and a hostile talking head-in-a-trunk, and you have the recipe for a rollicking country romp from America_s early history. Songs include Once Upon The Natchez Trace, Two Heads and Steal With Style.
