Following their exciting 2017 season which included the four-star reviewed, sell-out production of Fame: The Musical and a brand new musical adaptation of Lysistrata, Centre Stage London have announced their innovative 2018 season. Featuring a varied programme, Centre Stage London are proud to announce their 52nd Season which includes: Love Happens Here - An LGBTQI Cabaret; Mic Drop - A Musical Throwdown; Centre Stage Rocks! and the return of family-favourite, the original high-school musical, Grease The Musical! The season reflects Centre Stage London’s focus on diverse offerings for their members. Chair, Alexis Rose, says “Our team have worked to develop a fresh, innovative season which offers a wide range of opportunities for our members, old and new, onstage and off. Mixing large shows with smaller cabarets, well-known titles with totally new formats, ensures a diverse experience for our actors, creatives and audience. We are proud to be able to continue our tradition of offering exciting, high quality, affordable theatre to central London audiences.” In February Centre Stage presents Love Happens Here - AN LGBTQI Cabaret. Just like the LGBTQI community themselves, their soundtrack is vast and diverse. Centre Stage London is proud of our LGBTQI members and the connection we have with this vibrant community and is excited to celebrate a message of hope, acceptance, activism and love in Love Happens Here - An LGBTQI Cabaret! Next up in June, it’s officially on! In a new musical concept, Mic Drop- A Musical Throwdown, Team Girls will take on Team Boys in this musical throwdown of epic proportions! Each team will battle for fame and glory via social media during rehearsals, but only one can be victorious. Who will it be? Well, only the audience have the power to decide at performances. So pick your side, and consider the gauntlet thrown! Following in September is Centre Stage Rocks! Breaking free from the traditional theatre environment, this is a rock concert that will blast the house down with some of the biggest tunes Musical Theatre has ever seen. An opportunity for vocalists to unleash their inner rock god and perform alongside a live rock band with a festival-like feel, and for audiences to really let their hair down! Completing the season, in November, Centre Stage London is excited to present the return of family-favourite Grease The Musical. Featuring all the unforgettable songs from the movie including ‘Grease Is The Word’, ‘Summer Nights’, ‘Hopelessly Devoted To You’, ‘Sandy’, ‘Greased Lightnin'’, ‘You're The One That I Want’ and more, dust off your leather jackets, pull up those bobby-socks and see Danny and Sandy fall in love all over again at The Bridewell Theatre in the original high-school musical! About Centre Stage Centre Stage is a central London-based theatre company that has been entertaining audiences with musicals and cabarets for over 50 years. An amateur society and registered charity, we began as a light opera company in 1966. Our members range in age from their 20s to their 60s and come from all walks of life - current members include teachers, lawyers, bankers, directors, web designers, nannies, librarians, managers, event organisers and retirees.
