    The Price by Arthur Miller

    until
FARNWORTH LITTLE THEATRE Presents THE PRICE by Arthur Miller Saturday 15th March - Saturday 22nd March 2014 @ 7.30pm Matinee on Saturday 22nd March 2014 @ 2pm The Price, one of master playwright Arthur Miller’s most successful plays, is a funny and deeply moving story of two brothers in conflict with their father. In a room crowded with the furniture of their youth, the brothers meet again after sixteen years. Between them is an unlikely arbiter – a ninety-year-old Russian Jewish junk merchant, a surrogate father sitting in the paternal chair, commenting, sympathizing, reprimanding and advising, before counting out the money – the price paid for the decisions of a lifetime. VICTOR FRANZ: Peter Scofield ESTHER FRANZ: Pat Hill GREGORY SOLOMON: John Howarth WALTER FRANZ: Dave Eyre Directed by: John O’Connell “Miller at his most intimate … movingly understated” – The Herald “Scintillating, powerful and moving” – The Telegraph “Resonates now more than ever” – The List “Drama in a league of its own … lots of comedy” – The Guardian Tickets are available to book online at: www.farnworthlittletheatre.co.uk or contact The Box Office by telephone on: 0845-643-0808 Farnworth Little Theatre Cross Street Farnworth Bolton BL4 7AJ

    The Steamie by Tony Roper

    until
FARNWORTH LITTLE THEATRE Presents THE STEAMIE by Tony Roper Saturday 9th November - Saturday 16th November 2013 @ 7.30pm Matinee on Saturday 16th November 2013 @ 2pm It's Hogmanay in a Glasgow wash house, and the girls need to get their washing done before the bells. Join Dolly, Magrit, Doreen and Mrs Culfeathers as they laugh and cry their way through the last day of the year? With a little help from the not so handy Andy. First performed in May 1987, The Steamie has delighted and entertained audiences all over the world. 'The play has a kind of hilarious perfection' Scotsman 'The Steamie gives an unashamedly nostalgic view of Glasgow's past, yet its strength is that it brings the wash house women to life without getting dewy-eyed' Guardian 'The comic rhythms that make such moments so hilarious. Watching the quartet sing in raucous harmony as they pound out the dirt from their blankets in a row of mucky sinks, it's as if four Glasgow nymphs have been reborn in some celestial vineyard. It's an image to treasure.' The Herald March 2012 Book Online at: www.farnworthlittletheatre.co.uk or Box Office on: 0845 643 0808 Farnworth Little Theatre Cross Street Farnworth Bolton BL4 7AJ
